From our land
All the time the tree needs. No shortcuts afterwards.
Zero crop chemicals
We apply no herbicides, insecticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers to our orange trees.
Pruned and harvested by hand
The trees are pruned manually and every orange is picked individually when ripe.
No postharvest treatment
No wax, preservatives, fungicides or degreening gas are applied after harvest.
How we produce it
200 orange trees tended and harvested by hand.
We grow juice, eating and blood orange types. Pruning is manual, and fruit stays on the tree until fully ripe: citrus does not gain more sugar once picked.

The life behind every orange
200 orange trees. The fruit stays on the tree until fully ripe.
We grow three broad orange types: juice, eating and blood oranges. All 200 trees grow without herbicides, insecticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers and are pruned by hand.
Every orange is hand-picked only when fully ripe. We do not aim for an industrial size: we offer the different sizes each tree produces. After harvest, we apply no wax, preservatives, fungicides or degreening gas.

orange types
Juice, eating and blood oranges, depending on the season.
crop chemicals
No herbicides, insecticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers.
pruning and harvest
Fruit is picked one by one at full ripeness.
The difference is harvest timing
Our oranges compared with conventional oranges.
An orange does not continue to ripen or gain sugar after it is picked. Waiting on the tree is therefore not a detail: it determines the flavour that reaches your table.
Crop protection
No crop chemicals.
Intensive programs may include herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and mineral fertilizers.
Tree care
200 trees pruned and observed manually.
Scheduled management designed for volume, yield and commercially uniform fruit.
Harvest timing
Every orange is hand-picked only at full ripeness.
Harvest may be brought forward to meet packing, transport and distribution schedules.
Sugar after picking
Fruit stays on the tree to develop all of its sweetness there.
An orange picked too early cannot later recover the sugar or flavour it did not develop on the tree.
Peel colour
Colour develops naturally on the tree, with no gas.
Ethylene may remove green peel colour, but it does not improve internal quality or make the fruit sweeter.
Types and sizes
Juice, eating and blood oranges in several natural sizes.
Sorting and grading to meet uniform commercial formats and appearance standards.
After harvest
No wax, preservatives, fungicides or degreening.
Long supply chains may use washing, fungicides, wax, refrigeration and degreening for preservation and appearance.
Route to your table
Harvested according to orders through a direct farm supply chain.
A longer chain involving packing, storage, transport and distribution.

Frequently asked questions
Before you order.
Where can I buy pesticide-free oranges in Paraguay?
Pura Tierra sells directly from its farm in Paraguarí and delivers in Greater Asunción.
Are they certified organic?
No. We have no organic certification. Our 200 trees are grown without herbicides, insecticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers.
What types of oranges do you grow?
Three broad types: juice oranges, eating oranges and blood oranges. Availability follows the season.
Why wait until full ripeness before picking?
Because an orange does not continue to ripen or gain sugar after it leaves the tree. We pick at the last moment so its flavour develops on the tree.
How are the oranges harvested?
Every orange is picked by hand only when fully ripe. The trees are also pruned manually.
Why do the oranges come in different sizes?
Because we are a small farm and do not standardize nature. We sell the natural sizes produced by our trees.
Are the oranges treated after harvest?
No. We apply no wax, preservatives, fungicides or degreening gas. They are prepared for your order as they leave the orchard.
How are they sold and delivered?
By the kilo, with delivery in Greater Asunción on Tuesday and Friday mornings for 45,000 Gs per order.
